Once we were (excluding any out-of-hands experience)…
Now we are… (again, excluding any out-of-hands experience)
Do you want to become a “tourist of your own youth”?
Let Geek’s Guide help you! We, Leith born Artist Onya and arts & culture writer Miki (see About Us), are both STGA Blue Badge Guide and have read ALL the books by Irvine Welsh, watched the film (96) at least 150 times and had seen T2 Trainspotting at least twice! We know all the details inside out.
Our tours are not just chasing up all the film locations. We will show you segments of social history in Scotland, helping you to understand why Trainspotting Trilogy and films have been praised so much locally and internationally.
There are three types of tours that we operate.
1) Edinburgh Tour ( 4 hours/version) £180 (seasonal) for a group
We will start from the city centre. Visiting iconic Trainspotting and T2 Trainspotting film locations, both on foot by car, we will explore Leith. Stopping over a famous pub for a wee break, we will head back to the centre by Lothian Bus (→ this is essential for becoming a “tourist of your own youth”) *The price does not include the cost of transportation & drinks.
2) Edinburgh Tours (8 hour / Full Version) from £540 (seasonal) for a group of up to 5 people (excl.Paypal Transaction fee)
This is basically an extended version of our half day tour. As T2 Trainspotting was filmed mostly in the city of Edinburgh, we will “drive” and “walk” both film locations and places mentioned in the books, including the route Renton was running from his old (terrifying) friend…
**The price includes guiding and transport.
3) Edinburgh & Glasgow Tour (8 hour approx) from £570 (seasonal) for a group of up to 6 people)
Some of you might just want “chase up ALL the film locations”. So here it is, we are exploring Edinburgh as well as Glasgow with plenty of social history. If you would even like to head to that famous station up in the highlands, we will arrange it with an extra charge.
